<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />March 11, 1980 <br /> <br />Mr. John Risdall, representing the New <br />Brighton Cable Co~unications Citizen <br />Advisory Co~ittee spoke to the City <br />regarding the proposed cable service <br />territory. <br /> <br />Cable Service <br />Territory <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt <br />that the City of New Brighton is in <br />favor of being included in a cable <br />service territory being proposed by <br />the City of Roseville to the Minnesota <br />State Cable Communications Board and <br />further that such statement of intent <br />be forwarded to the City of Roseville <br />and the Minnesota State Cable Communications <br />Board. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Director of Community Development reviewed <br />the staff report noting that the proposed <br />amendments were intended to update the pro- <br />posed New Brighton Comprehensive Plan with <br />the recent changes in regard to the housing <br />allocation plan and in regard to comments <br />received to the protection of open spaces <br />element of the City's plan. It was further <br />noted that the schedule for review of the <br />New Brighton Comprehensive Plan is that on <br />May 1st the Physical Development Corrun.i,ttee <br />of the Metropolitan Council <br />will be reviewing our plan and it is anticipated <br />that the full Metropolitan Council will receive, <br />review and approve the New Brighton Comprehensive <br />Plan subject to some required amendments at their <br />meeting of May 8, 1980. <br /> <br />Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendments <br />Report No. 80-42 <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to indicate <br />that the Council has considered the proposed <br />amendments to the housing and open space elements <br />of the New Brighton Comprehensive Plan and that <br />the Council has given conceptual approval of the <br />amendments and directs staff to forward the amendments <br />to the Metropolitan Council for their review. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to <br />authorize the City Manager and City Attorney <br />to negotiate the necessary agreements with <br />the School District and Mr. Cadwallader <br />regarding obtaining the deed for the Silver <br />Oaks park property, insuring the continuous <br />use of the existing tennis courts and the <br />voiding of the existing joint powers agreement <br /> <br />Joint Powers Agreement <br />Silver Oaks Elementar~ <br />School PRD #30 <br />Report No. 80-43 <br />
