<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />September 11, 1979 <br />City of New Brighton <br /> <br />The Mayor, with consent of the Council directed receipt <br />of the petition of businessmen in the area in favor of <br />the wine license request. <br /> <br />Mr. Mark van Zandt, representing the Rice Creek Center <br />Merchants Association, presented a letter from the <br />merchants association supporting the wine license application. <br /> <br />The Mayor, with consent of the Council, directed receipt and <br />filing of the letter from the Rice Creek Merchants Association. <br /> <br />Mr. George Weneke, 2134 Silver Lake Road, spoke in favor of the <br />license. <br /> <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Blomquist to close the hearing. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Werdouschegg to authorize the <br />issuance of a wine license to Dale Ekegren, 2114 Silver Lake <br />Road (Pizza Factory) located in the Rice Creek Shopping Center. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Blomquist <br />to waive the reading and hold the first reading <br />of an ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE NEW <br />BRIGHTON CITY CODE PERTAINING TO ALCOHOLIC <br />BEVERAGES and amending Section 4-l(e) to <br />include an item 114 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Proposed Amendments <br />Liquor Ordinance <br /> <br />4. That food must be made available on the premises. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes ~ motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Blomquist to waive the <br />reading and hold the first reading of an ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 4 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE REMOVING THE LIMITATION <br />OF THE NUMBER OF 3.2 ON-SALE LICENSES by amending Section 4-70 <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />Not more than one on-sale and one off-sale non-intoxicating <br />malt liquor license shall be issued to or held by the same <br />person. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Janecek to waive the reading, <br />hold the first reading of an ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 <br />OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE PERTAINING TO DISTANCES OF <br />LICENSED PREMISES and amending Sections 4-73(a) , 4-109(d), <br />and Section 4-l61(c) of proposed ordinances (PLACES INELIGIBLE) <br />as- follows: <br /> <br />Delete "except that" and start new sentence,line three. <br />Delete "only" following word 'touncir'in last sentence. <br /> <br />4 <br />
