Mr.Polaczyk further stated that the neighbors <br />were concerned for traffic in the area, parking, and that <br />they prefer not to see any special use permits granted. <br /> <br />Mr. Steven Schmidt, Chairman of the New Brighton Planning <br />Commission stated that the Board of Review had recently <br />reviewed the property situation and that it was the Board <br />of Review's position that the most appropriate use for <br />the property was a residential type of use. Mr. Schmidt <br />further stated that he had personally talked to approximately <br />100 people in the surrounding area and that it was strongly <br />felt that residential uses for the property were most <br />appropriate. <br /> <br />Mr. Gene Andreotti, representing Windsor Green Association, <br />stated that the Association was concerned for the reuse <br />of the school indicating that they preferred the property <br />be developed for residential purposes, that they wanted <br />tax paying development and that they were concerned for <br />the use and retention of the Silver Oaks Park and <br />finally that the safety of children should be addressed <br />in any reuse of the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Arnold Ness, Superintendent of St. Anthony School District <br />was present. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to reaffirm the <br />proposed comprehensive plan for this site and the R-l <br />single family residential zoning of this property and <br />surrounding properties. Further that there was a strong <br />indication from neighborhood residents and the City Planning <br />Commission that a residential development was the most <br />appropriate use of the property and that the Council was <br />concerned for the traffic, parking and activity levels <br />at this site. Further that the City is concerned for <br />the retention and maintenance of the Silver Oaks Park site. <br />Further to direct staff to transmit the Council feelings <br />to the St. Anthony School Board. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Mrs. Clara Sienka, applicant, was present <br />to answer questions. <br /> <br />Minor Subdivision <br />Knollwood Park #2 Lot 13 <br />Report No. 79-503 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2260 <br /> <br />The council indicated that they did not <br />wish to subdivide the property in its <br />present proposal as it would be inconsistent <br />with recent Council decisions. The applicant <br />indicated she would be willing to redraw the <br />proposed property lines to create more standard <br />shaped lots. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />waive the reading and adopt a resolution <br /> <br />-5- <br />
