Public hearing to consider proposed changes to Chapter 17 ofthe City Code <br />Regarding tall weeds and wood piles. Report No. 09-077. <br />Ordinance No 771, Ordinance No 772, Ordinance No 773. <br />City Manager Lotter introduced Joe Hatch, Code Enforcement Officer. It was reported that earlier in the <br />year council had the opportunity to review proposed changes and offered a few suggestions. Mr. Hatch <br />presented three ordinances for review; An ordinance amendment related to nuisance grass and weeds height, <br />an ordinarlc e, amendment related to title change to the Code Enforcement Officer, and an ordinance <br />amendment related to firewood storage. Mr. Hatch recommended extending the Public Hearing until the <br />next meeting for the tall grass and weeds ordinance to allow time to review with the City Attorney. <br />Councilmember Phillips requested the area of ornamental grass be addressed in the ordinance corning forth <br />at the March 20 meeting. <br />Councilmember Doffing requested striking the sentence pertaining to the rendering plant in Section 17-2, <br />item number 3. <br />Mayor Larson opened the Public Hearing at 6:50 pm. <br />Mayor Larson asked for comments, there were none. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to close the Public <br />Hearing. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 6:51 pm. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Doffing to approve the <br />amendment to the City Code related to firewood storage consisting of sec. 17-2 with the <br />8.
