E <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />09 - <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE 2009 SEASONAL COMPENSATION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the compensation rates for seasonal personnel must be set annually by Council <br />resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, the federal government has changed the minimum wage rate effective July 24, <br />2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Government is changing the minimum wage rate from $6.55 (2008) to <br />$7.25 per the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); and <br />WHEREAS , the City of New Brighton has one seasonal pay grade that is being affected by this <br />mandated wage change. The City currently pays seasonal employees a training wage of $7.00 <br />per hour to attend any mandatory training sessions that is required for their positions with the <br />City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: <br />1. The City Council approves the modified 2009 compensation plan for seasonal employees. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 9th day of May 12, 2009. <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A.
