He would like to see more enforcement <br />of these minor, misdemeanor crimes. There was a serious assault in the park <br />that could have been avoided by a little enforcement. Start trespassing some of <br />the trouble makers. <br />• <br />Make the park a place we can be proud of where kids can play safely. <br />• <br />Continue programs in the park with adult supervision, intervention for at -risk <br />kids, the kids that don't get the message need to go. If we do those three <br />things, we can solve the problem. <br />• <br />No reason for people to be in the park after dark. It is important to keepp an adult presence <br />there. Fuller stated he walks through the park. <br />• <br />His 12 yr. old did not think removing the skate park made sense. Those that <br />make trouble will go somewhere else. The skaters would probably go to <br />businesses or churches in the area to skate. I> don't think the businesses and <br />churches would appreciate that. Have lived next to the park for 21 yrs. <br />• <br />His children went to. Pike Lake. They used the park. It is a wonderful amenity. <br />There is a behavior issue that needs to be dealt with. In the last few years have become very <br />concerned about the skateboard park. <br />+ <br />Went to internet to find info about skateboard parks. Website called "Concrete <br />Disciples" It is a National organization that ranks skateboard parks. Found <br />New Brighton's listed. Description listed the park as ghetto potheads. <br />+ <br />Her son was bothered by kids asking him to use his bike, the neighbor kid let <br />them use his bike and they wrecked it. <br />• <br />Many programs in the park have adult supervision, skateboarding does not. <br />• <br />Need some major changes; not willing to let things stay the way they are. <br />• <br />Skateboarders need to help by reporting trouble, respectful of families no <br />smoking, drinking and swearing. <br />• <br />The skateboard park should be monitored, like the warming house. Hire <br />someone to be a presence in the area. <br />
