Mr. James Yarosh
Siegel Brill, et al
January 22, 2009
The berm is to extend to the north and south of the activities as far as practical and at
least a distance equal to the height of the berm. That is, if the berm height is 25 feet, the
berm should extend at least 25 feet north and south of the activities.
The berm will be effective for all sound sources it shields. This includes sounds from
normal operations of truck delivery/dumping of recycle material, crushing, associated
material handling and occasional tailgate impacts.
A sketch of the general arrangement of the berm, facility equipment and sound receiver
from the December sound mitigation plan is attached for reference. The berm material
can be stored recycle material or other impermeable material. The berm is expected to
reduce sound from the operations to well below the non-operating sound levels measured
in September.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide this addendum. 1 will be happy to meet with
City staff to discuss further our measurements, the mitigation plan or other related issues.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 763-479-4236.
Sincerely,
WENCK ASSOCIATES, INC.
Z t r
Timothy J.
