Jacobson, Director of Public S <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report �[ Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Approval of the Agreement between the City of New Brighton and the Mounds View School <br />District for School Resource Officer (SRO) services at Irondale High School, Highview Middle <br />School, and the Area Learning Center for school year 2009 — 2010. <br />Legislative History: <br />The City of New Brighton and Mounds View Schools have a long history of cooperative <br />agreements for the use of Police Officers as School Resource Officers at various schools within <br />49 the City of New Brighton. <br />Financial Impact: <br />11 <br />The City of New Brighton will be reimbursed 100% of the personnel and program costs for the <br />nine month school year for 2009 — 2010 for the three School Resource Officers. This is <br />estimated to result in revenue in 2010 of approximately $218,000. <br />Explanation: <br />The City of New Brighton and the Mounds View School District have a long history of <br />cooperation in providing for School Resource Officers at schools within New Brighton. The <br />current agreement will include a full time School Resource Officer at Irondale High School <br />(Officer Burt Emerson), Highview Middle School (Officer Ed.
