Paries, Recreation & Environmental Commission minutes f -om June 3, 2009. <br />Special Order of Business <br />1. Update from PREC regarding Freedom Skate Park. <br />Officer Trevor Hamdorf introduced Lucas Lane, a youth representative from the Freedom lark Skate Park. <br />Lucas reported there has been noticeable improvement at the skate park. Officer Hamdorfrepoited five <br />individuals have been permanently removed fiom the parks. A PowerPoint was presented, outlining the <br />positive changes, and detailing continued efforts to maintain a safe environment <br />Dean Lotter announced Public safety volunteer Ray Tandeski has played a very active role in the success of ' <br />the skate park. Melissa Grahek, a resident near Freedom Park expressed her appreciation for the positive <br />changes, including the overall appearance of the park, and the decrease in unwanted behaviors. The council <br />expressed their appreciation to the youth for their involvement, along with the community, and City Staff. <br />Councilmember Bauman encouraged residents to bring their concerns to the attention of the council and <br />City Stam: Mayor Larson reported the next update would be in. November. <br />2. "Heart Safe No Fear" CPR video presentation and discussion. <br />Councilmember Doffing reported that Allma Medical Transportation has provided an opportunity for life <br />saving in the cornmumty through an eight minute video presentation. The video was shown and the <br />Youtube website nofear epr.corn was shared. Kim Bemenderfer, representing Allina Medical Transportation <br />Services, reported the biggest hindrance in bystander CPR is fear, and is hoped that by watching the short <br />video presentation, some of that fear could be addressed. <br />Consent Agenda <br />1 Consolidated Vouchers 128919 through 129074 for a grand total of $854,690.68. <br />Report No. 09-188. <br />2.
