August 11, 2009 <br />Conunlssion Minutes <br />Mayor Larson received the following minutes on behalf of the City. <br />1. Update ung <br />Officer Trevor Hamdorf introduced Lucas Lane, a youth representative from the Freedom Park Skate Park. <br />Freedom skate Park. <br />Lucas reported there has been noticeable improvement at the skate park. Officer Hamdorf reported five <br />individuals have been permanently removed from the parks. A PowerPoint was presented, outlining the <br />positive changes, and detailing continued efforts to maintain a safe environment. <br />Dean Lotter announced Public safety volunteer Ray Tandeski has played a very active role in the sins of <br />the skate park Melissa Grahek, a resident near Freedom Park expressed her appreciation for the positive <br />changes, including the overall appearance of the park, and the decrease in unwanted behaviors. The council <br />expressed their appreciation to the youth for their involvement, along with the community, and City Staff <br />Councilmember Bauman encouraged residents to bring their concerns to the attention of the council and <br />City Staff. Mayor Larson reported the next update would be in November. <br />2. The video was shown and the <br />Youtube website nofea=,eam was shared. Kim Bemenderfer, representing Allina Medical Transportation <br />Services, reported the biggest hindrance in bystander CPR is fear, and is hoped that by wattling the short <br />video presentation, some of that fear could be addressed. <br />1.
