Gundlach replied that it <br />would be mounted on a plate that would rotate around the pole. <br />Doug Wilson, 2166 Violet Lane, stated that he opposes the proposed pole due to health concerns. <br />Gundlach replied that the Federal Telecommunications Act prohibits any city from denying these <br />requests solely based on impacts to health, because they have determined that the poles are not <br />detrimental to health. <br />Motion by Baker, second by Danger to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION APPROVED. <br />Public Hearing: SP2009-008 Special Use Permit to permit Installation of Telecommunications <br />Equipment on the Xcel Energy Transmission Tower at 2172 Old Highway 8 NW <br />The applicant works for Buell Consulting and is acting on behalf of Clearwire Communications. The <br />Special Use Permit request would allow for installation of three panel antennas and three microwave <br />dishes on the existing Xcel Energy Transmission Tower at 2172 Old Highway 8 NW at a height of 120'. <br />Also included in the request is the ability to lease a 10' x 10' ground space area from the property owner <br />to place the necessary equipment to operate the antennas. The antennas would be painted to match the <br />tower and expected installation would be the summer of 2010. <br />Motion by Baker, second by Danger to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />•7 ayes, 0 nays.
