Approved <br />ePherson asked if the equipment on the pole would in risk of being damaged by a baseball. Vieria <br />lied that currently the applicants are not concerned about the antenna's being damaged by a ball, but <br />they could be shielded if necessary. <br />Howard inquired if the applicant would be willing to make the pole extendable. Vieria replied that <br />Clearwire is willing to make this pole extendable. Howard asked if the pole was extended to 115 feet if <br />that would allow another vendor to use the pole to cover the Hidden Oaks Park area. Vieria replied that <br />another vendor could then collocate on the pole and Clearwire would move to the top location. Phillips <br />inquired if the pole should just be built at 115 feet. Vieria replied that the Clearwire engineers specified <br />the 100 foot height for best coverage and any additional height would increase the cost of construction. <br />Gundlach added that the public meeting was advertised for a 100 foot pole. Vieira reiterated that his <br />clients have specified 100 feet as their desired height. <br />Baker stated that he would prefer no landscaping around the utility cabinet, since the proposed arborvitae <br />would allow people to hide. Schiferl proposed a recommendation of painting the utility cabinet dark <br />brown, with small shrubs placed around the cabinet to soften its visual impact. Howard and Danger both <br />stated they do not believe any screening would be necessary for this proposal. Macpherson stated that <br />there are quite a few utility cabinets through out the City and has not seen graffiti on any of them and <br />agrees a fence or landscaping is not needed. <br />Motion by Baker, second by Danger to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. The Special Use Permit shall be valid for 12 months from the date of Council approval. <br />2. The applicant enters into a lease agreement with the City, to be approved by the City Council. <br />3. The ground equipment would be painted a dull brown so to blend well with the surroundings. <br />4. The pole will be engineered to allow for a 15 foot extension. <br />5. Should another telecommunications provider wish to locate on this pole, a Special Use Permit must <br />be submitted for review along with a lease agreement with the City Council. <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. The <br />Special Use Permit request would allow for a 15' pole extension to the recently constructed 62' AT&T <br />.monopole for a total pole height of 77'.
