January 26, <br />3. Consider Purchase Agreement with Minnesota Diesel Properties, LLC for Sale of 389 Old <br />Highway 8NW. Report No. 10-030. <br />Oector of CommunityDevclopment Grant Femehus reported the adjacent landowner at 403 Old <br />Highway 8 (Diesel Minnesota) contacted the broker and made an offer. The City had the <br />property appraised at $65,000; however the site was listed for $71,500 (i.e. to account for <br />brokerage fees and other sales costs). The buyer initially offered $60,100 for the property and <br />staff countered with $65,000. The buyer responded with a counter offer at $62,550, The <br />City's broker advised that we accept the offer given the challenges of developing a small site. <br />The closing date is tentatively scheduled for March 15, 2010. Councilmember Burg reported <br />she did not agree with the City purchasing the property, but was glad is has now sold. <br />Councilmember Samuelson questioned if this was in the 2010 budget, Manager Lotter <br />reported it was not included, and this would be a one-time revenue source. <br />Motion by Councilmember Philips, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to <br />approve a Purchase Agreement with Diesel Minnesota Properties, LLC for the sale of 389 Old <br />Highway 8 NW in the amount of $62,550 and authorize staff to execute the necessary documents to <br />complete the sale. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Mr. Lotter reported Representative Kate Knuth talked about possibly obtaining a bonding bill <br />for cleanup in the Northwest: Quadrant. A local conference will be attended with Mayor <br />Jacobsen and Councilmember Samuelson.` <br />Gina Bauman <br />Nothing to report. <br />David Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the Planning Commission met January 16th. Bruce Howard <br />was appointed as Chairperson, and Norm Schiferl was appointed vice -chair. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen has agreed to attend certain meetings and functions, and is finding them to be <br />beneficial. <br />Mary Burs <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Parks, Recreation & Environmental Commission did not <br />meet in January. <br />Char Samuelson <br />ouncilmember Samuelson reported the Public Safety Commission meeting will be January <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />3.
