RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID FOR THE REROOFING OF THE FAMILY <br />SERVICE CENTER AND WATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement in the New Brighton Bulletin and in the <br />Construction Bulletin, bids for the above mentioned improvements were received, <br />opened, and read aloud by the City Engineer at 2:00 p.m., April 7, 2010, complying with <br />the advertisement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton received 10 bids for the 2010 Reroofing of the <br />Family Service Center (FSC) and Water Treatment Plant (WTP) project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council rejects the bid of Rayco Construction Inc. since it was not <br />valid; and, <br />WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder meeting bid specifications was found to be <br />• McPhillips Bros. Roofing Company with a total bid of $658,000 for Bid Items 1 (FSC: <br />$548,000) and 2 (WTP: $110,000) for a built up roof style. <br />i <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of New Brighton: <br />1. That the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with McPhillips Bros. Roofing Company in the name of the City of New <br />Brighton for the 2010 Reroofing of the Family Service Center (FSC) and Water <br />Treatment Plant (WTP) project. <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bid except that the deposits of the successful low bidder and the <br />next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br />Adopted this 11th day of May, 2010. <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A.
