• 21A. 5 <br />reimbursement does not guarantee acceptance of the course for this program. <br />Specialty Certificates: <br />A. Specialty Certificates are defined as: <br />1. Department approved areas of job-related special skills, knowledge, or ability <br />requiring not less than 40 hours of preparatory training/education per <br />certificate unit. One week of training (40 Hours) shall equal one certificate <br />unit. <br />2. Are deemed to be permanent unless: <br />a. The certifying authority limits the effective time for the license, certificate <br />or other symbol of competency, or revokes/cancels/suspends the member's <br />certificate. <br />b. The employee elects to discontinue participation in agency duties for <br />which the certificate was granted.
