•Daily adult user fees have not increased since 2005 when the fee increased from $5.25 to $5.50.
This process also includes a proposal to increase daily fees to $6.00 per adult. The average fee in
the surrounding communities ranges from $7.00 to $8.25. In 2009, there was $4,544 in daily
user fees which if increased by $.50 or 9% we would increase revenues by approximately
$2,272.
Explanation:
The monthly membership option works for both the patron and the fitness center. With this
option there are further details and tracking methods in providing this service that ultimately
results in the new fees. Please see the graph on the lower left of the spreadsheet with the yellow
cell marked Clubs. This indicates how other clubs increase their monthly dues further explained
in this report. Monthly memberships will assist patrons in being a member of the FSC with only
a small monthly financial impact rather than a large annual fee. The annual fee has been a
detouring factor for some patrons deciding to be a member of the FSC due to financial
constraints in this economy.
A census report was run on June 10, 2010 which reflects membership totals. In 2010, we have
1,148 members and 648 total memberships. Of the 648 memberships, 303 are combined
memberships such as senior, adult and family and are enrolled in a health insurance
reimbursement programs. At the end of 2009 there was 1,331 members and 737 total
memberships. Currently, we are down 12% decrease in our memberships from last year. The
decline is attributed in large part due to lack of the convenient monthly payment, group fitness
options and on site amenities based on patron response when asked why they are not choosing a
• membership with the FSC Fitness Center.
•
The FSC membership rates were increased at the beginning of 2010 with a rate increase of 5% to
10% depending on the membership type which resulted in no more than $20 on an annual
membership. Before the 2010 price increase, the last increase was in 2006 with an average of a
5% increase.
In the spreadsheet, you will see club comparisons that did offer monthly memberships in
conjunction with their annual memberships. These clubs increased membership dues from 2.9% -
25% when they chose monthly payments over an annual membership. The goal is to maintain
competitive, add patron convenience, provide the appropriate amenities and be affordable to
users.
Cost and ng:
The w op n pro esetfiis expected to produce an increase in residual membership revenues.
atrice Atki son
Recreation Supervisor
C:,D c=Msa Settings\patkm\D torW mbeMip prop WIB.d c
