Consideration of a special use permit for an amended site plan for Beisswenger's Do It Best Hardware Store at 1873 Old Highway 8 NW. Report No. 189. Resolution No. 05-069 I The City Planner gave some information on past council action. August 19, 2005 the planning commission met, and denied Mr. Beisswenger's application. The site architect; Mr. Norm Wells, submitted a new site plan which staff feels addresses the concerns raised by the Planning Commission. The City Planner requested there be an addition to the Staff Recommendation: That a Public Hearing be held September 13, 2005 to amend the Zoning Code. Motion by Council Member Moore-Sykes, seconded by Council Member Burg to waive the reading and adopt the attached resolution and fmdings of fact approving the application SP05-14 and LP05-1O with the following conditions: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. I 7. a. An ordinance amendment to Section 6-540 (2) is approved by the City Council. Compliance with SP04-01 and LP03-0a. The most recent elevation, landscape, and lighting plans are submitted to be approved by City Staff. Compliance with the submitted site plan received August 19, 2005. The applicant should re-submit grading and drainage plans to be approved by the City Engineer. A special use permit is applied for to consider signage through the comprehensive sign plan process. The storage of any packaging, garbage or recycling material shall not be stored outside of the dumpster enclosure area as depicted on the site plan. Garden Sales Area items shall be for sale and displayed on the hard surface only in the "garden shop" area as depicted on the August 19, 2005 amended site plan. ublic Hearin 1.
