-3- <br />D. Parks and Recreation Service Level Cuts — Sub Committee Report <br />Don Heinrich stated the sub -committee consists of Jeanne Frischman, Brian Strub <br />and himself. One of the guidelines was to have it ready by Sept. 15 for the next <br />brochure deadline. <br />Brian Strub stated this committee looked at: <br />• The department's organizational chart with staff areas of <br />responsibilities <br />• Financial info on 200 + programs <br />• Philosophy of keeping programs in FSC and parks <br />Strub stated it is his understanding that this committee is to make a <br />recommendation to PREC and then PREC would make their recommendation to <br />the Council on service level cuts. <br />V. Trails Committee Update — Brian Strub; Chair <br />Strub stated at their meeting just prior to this one, they spent a lot of time on Complete Streets. <br />Strub also stated that as part of the Comprehensive Plan there is a list of trail needs in the City. <br />The Trails Committee stated they would like to review that annually. Safety remains a top <br />priority of the Trails Committee. <br />VI. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report — Council Member Burg <br />• National Night Out is coming up August 3 <br />• Stockyard Days is coming up August 8-15 <br />• Council made the decision to return this Commission back to 9 people <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. Chair Updates <br />None <br />B. Director of Parks and Recreation Updates <br />• As Commissioners, you are invited to ride along with one of the Police <br />Officers for National Night Out. <br />• All Commissioners should receive the MRPA Magazine. Brad Martens is <br />featured in the latest issue. <br />• Update on EAB — We have wrapped up treatment of the City's boulevard <br />trees. We still have a few park tree injections to do. All of the data now <br />needs to be entered in the GIS. Two (almost 3) contractors are listed on the <br />City's website for treatment on private property. <br />VIII.
