-3- D. Parks and Recreation Service Level Cuts — Sub Committee Report Don Heinrich stated the sub -committee consists of Jeanne Frischman, Brian Strub and himself. One of the guidelines was to have it ready by Sept. 15 for the next brochure deadline. Brian Strub stated this committee looked at: • The department's organizational chart with staff areas of responsibilities • Financial info on 200 + programs • Philosophy of keeping programs in FSC and parks Strub stated it is his understanding that this committee is to make a recommendation to PREC and then PREC would make their recommendation to the Council on service level cuts. V. Trails Committee Update — Brian Strub; Chair Strub stated at their meeting just prior to this one, they spent a lot of time on Complete Streets. Strub also stated that as part of the Comprehensive Plan there is a list of trail needs in the City. The Trails Committee stated they would like to review that annually. Safety remains a top priority of the Trails Committee. VI. Correspondence A. Council Report — Council Member Burg • National Night Out is coming up August 3 • Stockyard Days is coming up August 8-15 • Council made the decision to return this Commission back to 9 people VII. Announcements A. Chair Updates None B. Director of Parks and Recreation Updates • As Commissioners, you are invited to ride along with one of the Police Officers for National Night Out. • All Commissioners should receive the MRPA Magazine. Brad Martens is featured in the latest issue. • Update on EAB — We have wrapped up treatment of the City's boulevard trees. We still have a few park tree injections to do. All of the data now needs to be entered in the GIS. Two (almost 3) contractors are listed on the City's website for treatment on private property. VIII.
