A community may withdraw from participation at any time.
I think I outlined the consequences of opting in and out in my July 27th email to you. I
don't think I would have anything to add to those points, other than to just remind you
that a community must elect to participate by November 15 of any year in order to be
eligible to apply for grants in the following calendar year. Please let me know if you
would like me to re -send that information.
Paul Burns, AICP
Manager, Livable Communities Program
Metropolitan Council -- 390 Robert Street North
St. Paul, MN 55101-1805
(651) 602-1106 -- fax: (651) 602-1442
paul.burns@metc.state.mn.us
From: Grant Fernelius [ma !Ito:Grant.Fernelius@newbrightommn.gov]
Sent: Monday, August 16, 2010 2:43 PM
To: Burns, Paul
Subject: RE:
Paul,
The New Brighton City Council tabled action on the proposed resolution for participation in the LCA. One of the
questions that came up is whether the City can withdraw from participation at any time. I assume the answer is yes,
but I wanted to check. The City understands the potential consequence of withdrawing, including prohibition on
future Met Council or DEED grant funding. Any insights would be appreciated.
