CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: October 8, 2010 <br />TO: Dean Lotter, City Manager <br />FROM: Grant Fernelius, Community Development Director roW <br />SUBJECT: Follow -Up Questions Regarding Arne Cook, Montgomery Realty Advisors <br />At the September 28th work session, the Council heard a presentation by Arne Cook <br />from Montgomery Realty Advisors about his services and the possibility of working with <br />the City to market parcels in the Northwest Quadrant. Council seemed interested in <br />working with Mr. Cook, but had questions about the scope of services, time involved <br />and potential costs. Staff has been working with the consultant to address these <br />questions. <br />Scope of Services <br />Task 1: Assist with identification of suitable broker and/or development <br />partners. <br />a) Obtain reasonable knowledge and understanding of history and current status <br />of NWQ development and City objectives relative to pricing, timing, etc. <br />b) Assist with identification of and setting preliminary meetings/discussions with <br />potential and qualified broker and/or development teams. <br />c) Assist with preparation of a RFP and conducting formal presentation by short- <br />listed broker and/or development teams. <br />d) Assist with preparation of selection criteria and selecting broker and/or <br />development team based on said criteria. <br />Estimated duration 2-3 months with consulting time of 50 to 100 hours. <br />Potential cost range: $11,000 to $22,000 <br />
