During discussion, Commissioner Kroll felt the way to go would be to address the irresponsible <br />owner. Commissioner Schumann added the ordinance should address dangerous animals; not <br />just dogs. <br />Commissioner Allen motioned that city staff obtains animal ordinances of surrounding <br />communities to review and compare at the next Public Safety Commission meeting; <br />Commissioner Schumann seconded. Motion carried. <br />Updates <br />CERT/Citizen Corps Council <br />No report. <br />Department Reports <br />Human Rights <br />Commissioner Woods attended the recent League of MN Cities Human Rights Commission <br />meeting. The recent topic was bullying. <br />December 3rd is the state Human Rights day. Commissioner Woods and Commissioner Haring <br />have both indicated they will be attending this day of training. Commissioner Woods has <br />attended in the past and reports they have good meetings and training sessions if anyone else is <br />interested in attending. <br />Allina Medical <br />Mr. Dave Matteson provided some statistical data for the first three quarters of 2010. New <br />Brighton generated 1358 total calls with 967 (71.2%) being transported. Most patients were <br />transported to Unity. Code 3 responses were made for 969 calls; of this number, 94% were made <br />under 10:59 minutes/seconds. <br />Mr. Matteson reported that when Allina transports a person from a hospital to Detox, the intake <br />process of Detox can take a lot of time as they only process one person at a time. Mr. Matteson <br />recently met with staff at Detox to learn more about their operations to be able to understand <br />how they operate. Allina wants to try to have a better working relationship with them. <br />Volunteers in Public Safety (YIPS) <br />There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive at the Public Safety Center next Wednesday, November <br />3rd, if anyone has a pint to spare! <br />Public Safety / Homeland Security Update <br />Deputy Director Olson asked if there were any questions regarding the monthly report. There <br />were no items to discuss.
