Two are located on <br /> the west side of the building to heat the locker room showers and west restroom sinks,two are located <br /> centrally in the community center to heat water for sinks throughout the remainder of the community <br /> center and the kitchen. <br /> The average life expectancy of water heaters is 8-10 years. The water heaters in the community center <br /> are from original construction of the facility in 1994,now on their 171h year of service. In late 2009,one <br /> of the centrally located water heaters stopped functioning. <br /> Staff solicited three bids for replacement with three different options. The quotes are below: <br /> Replacement Option Kramer Mechanical Commercial Plumbing NAC Mechanical& <br /> Plumbing&Heating &Heating Electric Services <br /> Replace with same $25,000 $25,600 $33,566 <br /> Replace with high $36,300 $33,400 Not submitted <br /> efficiency tanks <br /> Replace with tankless $24,000 $23,900 Not submitted <br /> heaters, includes small <br /> storage tank for <br /> circulating pump. <br /> Bids were reviewed by the Facilities Manager of the Parks and Recreation Department along with the <br /> Chief Building Official of the Community Development Department.
