A construction company was picked by the County for the library.
The City continues to negotiate with Clearwire Tower regarding the tower erected in Freedom
Park; trying to get them to change towers.
Old Business
Review of Vicious Animal Ordinance Amendments
Director Jacobson reviewed the cover memo to update the Animal Ordinance to incorporate our
suggestions as well as updated State statute. The revisions will meet our concerns.
After a brief review and discussion, Commissioner Allen made a motion to refer the Animal
Ordinance updates to Council for their consideration; Commissioner Woods seconded. Motion
carried.
Review of Process for Provisional Licensing for Multi Family Residential
Director Jacobson briefly reviewed how a property becomes a provisional licensed property;
over .5% serious calls. Silver Lake Flats is still on a provisional license. Director Jacobson
reported Officer Hamdorf has now opened a criminal investigation of Theft By Swindle on the
Silver Lake Flats property owner. He is taking a 3-step approach: hope to move forward with
criminal charges; move forward on license revocation due to failure to follow Mitigation Plan;
and the financial situation of a possible foreclosure.
Questions on the Commissioner Orientation Packet
All of the Public Safety Commissioners have received their Commissioner Orientation Packets.
There were no questions on this.
New Business
Potentially Amend Liquor License
Director Jacobson discussed with the Commission the desire to amend the current Liquor
Ordinance to prohibit boxing, wrestling, or any other form of entertainment whose primary
purpose is physical contact by striking an opponent. This amendment would prohibit MMA type
of events from being held where liquor is sold.
Commissioner Woods made a motion to forward to Council support to amend the Liquor
Ordinance; Commissioner Allen seconded. Motion carried.
Adjourn
Commissioner Woods motioned to adjourn the January PSC meeting; seconded by
Commissioner Allen. Meeting adjourned at 8:39 pm.
