April 12, 2011 Page 5 of 8 <br />Director Wyffels reported there are no other options, as the area does not meet MN DOT requirements <br />for a stop sign. <br />' Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Phillips to open the Public Hearing. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />Mayor Jacobsen opened the Public Hearing at 7:29pm <br />Tim McQuillan, 911- IIth Ave NW recommended the Council approve the purchase of 901 1 V Ave <br />NW. Mr. McQuillan reported it is a very unsafe intersection. It was also reported that the property has <br />been deteriorating over the years. <br />Gordon Olson, 948 l Vh Ave NW agreed that this is a very dangerous intersection, more so in the winter. <br />Mr. Olson also commented it can be dangerous for pedestrians as well. Concern was expressed at the <br />current condition of the property. <br />Tom Logelin, 933 11" Ave NW reported it is difficult to see traffic from both the east and west. <br />Mr. Logelin commented that maybe the No Parking signs are better placed on the side of the street with <br />the most houses, in order to prevent visitors from crossing the street. <br />Todd Peterson, 951 11 h Ave NW reported it is very difficult to cross 9h Ave. while on a bicycle. <br />Mr. Peterson reported a visitor at his house recently had an auto accident at that intersection. <br />Gordon Olson, 948 110' Ave NW commented that moving the No Parking to the other side would be very <br />' beneficial as there is a school bus stop there. <br />Mayor Jacobsen asked for additional comments; there were none. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to close the Public <br />Hearing. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:37 pm <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Phillips to approve the resolution <br />ordering project and authorization, preparation of plans and specifications for Project 11-1, streets <br />rehabilitation, with the addition of a sidewalk on 8" Street from 7'h Street to 81h Avenue. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />'Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Phillips to approve the Resolution <br />Restricting Parking On Municipal State Aid Routes 147-110-020, 8th Street NW Between 8th <br />Avenue NW And 11th Avenue Nw; And 147-110-040, 8th Street NW Between 6th Avenue NW And <br />8th Avenue NW; And 147-111-010, 9th Avenue NW From 8th Street NW To 10th Street NW <br />Noting item #2 be changed from east side of 9" to west side of 91" <br />
