August 23, 20 <br />Environmental Commission, or the Parks And Recreation Director. City Planner Gundlach <br />stated the Parks And Recreation Director did review the proposal, and the PREC Commission <br />did review it in 2005. <br />'John Moore, Director of Human Resources and Operations for ISD 621 stated the school <br />district would work with the City to reach an agreeable design. <br />Councilmember Phillips suggested a design bringing the sidewalk from 14th Street, to the <br />Neighborhood Center, having the accessible stalls on either side of the sidewalk. <br />City Planner Gundlach stated she would talk to the City Engineer, Director of Parks and <br />Recreation, and City Staff for design review. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Burg to authorize the Mayor <br />and City Manager to enter into the Joint Powers Agreement with Independent School <br />District No. 621 allowing certain parking lot improvements at Freedom Park, 2121 141h <br />ST NW and Pike Lake Education Center, 2101 14th ST NW, with the plan being revised <br />to keep sidewalk connectivity to 14th Ave, and allowing for accessible parking stalls for <br />the Neighborhood Center. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />Nothing to report. <br />' <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman attended an open house at CTV 15, and encouraged others to visit as <br />well. It was reported that the cable commission is waiting for the school district to respond <br />regarding a survey. The August Planning Commission meeting was cancelled. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported that the 6th Annual Shawn Silvera 5K Memorial Run; <br />coordinated by Officer Brad Krebsbach, will be Saturday August 27th. The next Public Safety <br />Commission meeting will be Monday, September 26th at 6:30 pm. Northwest Youth & Family <br />Services will host "A Taste of Northwest' September 29th. The Public Safety Department <br />welcomes Scott Kingslien as a newly hired police officer. The first City shredding event will <br />be Saturday August 28th. Appreciation was expressed to the Public Safety Department for their <br />efforts through the Stockyard Days events. Councilmember Burg attended the coronation <br />noting that Mounds View, Irondale and St Anthony High School were all represented by the <br />candidates. <br />David Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the PREC Commission will be touring local park facilities on <br />Wednesday, September 7th at 4:00 pm. Donations are still being accepted for the library to be <br />located at the Community Center.
