Approved <br /> B Allina Medical <br /> Mr. Dave Matteson noted that Allina has signed the lease for their new location at the SW corner <br /> of County Road 10/Woodale. Construction will start on December lst and they should be able <br /> to move in March 1st <br /> Mr. Matteson reported two of Allina's goals for 2012 include the replacement of all of their <br /> cardiac monitors and replacement of 70 ambulances; and second, to participate in a device trial <br /> for a suction device that attaches to a rescue pod to increase blood flow to the brain. <br /> Mr. Matteson presented and reviewed statistics of Allina's calls/transports in New Brighton. <br /> C. Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) <br /> Commissioner Woods noted the VIPS monthly meeting will be held tomorrow night so there is <br /> nothing new to report at this time. <br /> D. Public Safety/Homeland Security Update <br /> Firefighter Brian Goodwin announced his retirement in late October after 28 years of service. <br /> And,Firefighter Steve Nerheim announced his retirement in November after 10 years of service. <br /> Steve also served 20 years as a Firefighter in St. Anthony prior to joining our department. We <br /> wish them both well! <br /> We recently completed testing for a Sergeants promotion to replace the vacancy that will be <br /> created by the retirement of Sgt. John Kaiser. The Civil Service Commission will meet on <br /> December 8th at 5:30 pm to certify the list. Det. Mitch Singer finished first on the unofficial list. <br /> We anticipate a promotion effective January 1st <br /> Officer Scott Kingslien is in his third phase of field training and is doing very well. Officer Tom <br /> Nerison is in his second phase of field training and is also doing well. Both should be on their <br /> own and performing their patrol duties in December/January. <br /> Officer Ted Layton joined the MN Army National Guard. He is currently in Basic Training at <br /> Fort Benning, Georgia. He will then attend Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Rucker and will <br /> return to duty with us in April of 2012. <br /> The IACP Community Policing Committee will be at the regular City Council Meeting on <br /> Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30 pm to congratulate Public Safety for winning the IACP <br /> Community Policing Award. <br /> Director Jacobson is continuing to participate on the steering committee for the Suburban <br /> Ramsey County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community program. The group meets on the third <br /> Thursday at 7 pm in Roseville. If any Public Safety Commission members would like to <br /> participate, let Director Jacobson know and he can get you on the e-mail and member list. The <br /> City Council did pass a resolution of support of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Program. <br /> Officer McNeely is again getting ready for the Santa Cop program. We anticipate helping <br /> another 60 to 70 families (200 +people)this year. Anyone interested in helping can contact <br /> Officer McNeely. Firefighter Scott Vaughn will be our"Santa" again this year. <br />
