Silver Oak Tennis April 22, 1998
Page 2
S
Staff had at one time considered placing the tennis court at the top of the hill in the vicinity of the softball field
outfield. However, when the City engineers located the court in the area (see drawing) it became apparent that the
ballfield would become unusable. The Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission held a neighborhood
meeting on January 7, 1998 to discuss solution of the tennis courts. See attached minutes. There was considerable
discussion on the topic with some favoring the upper location and others favoring the site near Oakwood Drive.
Given the shortage of athletic facilities in the City, staff and the Commission believe that the upper area should be
used both for soccer and baseball. Therefore, staff and the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission are
recommending that the court be built in the area prepared by Mr. Cadwallader near Oakwood Drive.
Attachments
ID
•
