The number of hours of locally produced
programming has increased from 4 to 300+ per month. Dedicated member volunteers have planned,
produced, and borrowed shows of interest to New Brighton residents. They have also raised awareness of
channel offerings by securing space for a weekly program schedule in the New Brighton newspapers and
getting Council meeting tapes included in the collection of the Arden Hills Ramsey County Library.
The Commission has increased awareness and knowledge of City issues greatly by adding coverage of
Planning Commission meetings, hosting elected officials monthly on New Brighton Update, covering timely
topics on monthly New Brighton NOW, getting New Brighton features included in bi-monthly Tale of Ten
Cities, covering Concerts in the Parks, broadcasting special City meetings on development and other topics,
and covering other events by local clubs and organizations.
• Continued on next page
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
MOTION TO WAIVE THE FIRST AND SECOND READING AND APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO
THE ORDINANCE RELATING TO MUN IPAL ADVISORY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS.
(,,,trula
tco,
7 Barbara Jeane
Assistant to the ' Manager
