NEW BRIGHTON PARKS,RECREATION <br /> AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> JUNE 5, 1996 <br /> I. Call to Order <br /> Olson called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Members present: <br /> III. Minutes of May 1, 1996 <br /> MOTION BY HEINRICH, SECONDED BY KINZIE TO APPROVE MAY 1, 1996 <br /> MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> IV. Correspondence <br /> a. Council Report <br /> Council Representative Gunderman made an announcement to all the <br /> commission members of the latest addition to his family. Congratulations were <br /> made by all present. Gunderman talked of choosing a new honorary Council <br /> member at this meeting for next month as Dave Eikers was the honorary member <br /> last month. <br /> Gunderman praised the efforts of the Mounds View School district with regard <br /> to testing in mathematics and reading. The testing was completed using the 10 <br /> largest suburbs and Mounds View was rated #1 in mathematics and tied for <br /> first in reading. The Public Safety Commission of April 16, 1996 is doing a <br /> municipal service study on what and how it could get the most of their money. <br /> Public Safety Commission will be reviewing their involvement and a copy will <br /> be available for reading. <br /> b. Letter from Glenn Burleson <br /> Maurie was asked why he didn't send out to everyone (the notice to patrons <br /> regarding a meeting on the path at Innsbruck). Maurie replied that they <br /> hired an attendant to go out and place a notice on the door of each resident in the <br /> neighborhood. He states he felt they had good coverage. Glenn did not receive <br /> a copy. Maurie talked to him along with Matt Fulton. Burleson said he was <br /> • unaware of the scheduled meeting. Maurie asked the commission"Do you want <br /> to reconsider this issue again" and whether or not to reinvite Mr. Burleson to <br /> to attend another meeting. Maurie stated that 100% of the petitioners in the letter <br />
