• First off, I would like to commend the City Council and all others involved
in the revitilization projects, on the excellent job done sofar. Even though
some of the projects have had a detrimental impact on us doing business and
maintaining a quality of living, for the most part it has certainly been
beneficial to the City as a whole. Over the past few years some problems
have developed, such as the lighting issue on some of the warehouse
buildings,... which adversely affects our light sensitive crops. Our loss of
privacy, the noise level at all hoursof night with the truck docks, snow
plowing, rubbish removal, etc. The damage to our greenhouse and home
from rocks and debris being catapolted from the bulldozers, the ground
vibrations due to the heavy equipment used to clear and level the adjoining
properties, and the destruction of our fences due to the extreme erosion of
soil caused by the change in the grade level on these properties.
We live in a huge glass house where people are throwing rocks.
These issues have been addressed to the City and to the developer. Many
• meetings have taken place with Mr. Locke and Mr. Allen. Most issues we -
thought would be resolved to satisfaction, because Mr. Allen agreed to
resolve them, however; over time, Mr. Allen's memory has failed
him. We dealt in good faith, not seeing the need for a written commitment.
At issue with this latest project is assurance that the drainage on his property
does not affect us.
The replacement to our destroyed fence on the south side of the property ,
and the addition of fencing to shield our home from the 22 truck docks and
an access road., that will be 15 feet from our home, and the lighting on this
building will not affect our growing capabilities that have been continuing for
the past 65 years.
I have two daughters age 6 & 3, that cannot play in our yard any longer
unattended because of a 10' dropoff directly behind our home. The City has
geed to fence the east side. Our livelyhood is in danger. The lives of my
children are in danger. A basic right to a good night's sleet, are at issue here
I
