• 10.0 Targeted Redevelopment Areas (TDA). The Cleveland Avenue to Old Highway
8 area along County Road D development area should be a two community
redevelopment, incorporating high density housing and more mixed use
residential and perhaps neighborhood service or office. The newest buildings in
the area (Market Redevelopment at County Road D and Cleveland, Industrial
Equity Development, and the vacant George Reiling eight acre parcel between
Old Highway 8 and Highway 88 just south of County Road D) could provide an
opportunity to change or upgrade the complexion of the uses with a more
sympathetic use. The two cities should resolve to work closely with the
University Design Center to create a "neighborhood focus" and transit hub in
the area west of I-35W. And finally, Roseville congratulates New Brighton on
the New Market complex and the use of a similar design and materials to those
used in the first phase of Centre Pointe.
11.0 Public Works Facility. Roseville may also be interested in supporting and
sharing a public works facility.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment and share our thoughts regarding long-range
planning issues. Roseville is hopeful that joint training seminars among all seven
Planning Commissions in the I-35W Corridor will occur this coming spring. Should
you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact either of us.
Sincerely,
to.ccL,
Dennis P.
