RESOLUTION NO. <br />12-044 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT. <br />THE*�AS, an application has been made by Rodney Griffen to permit construction of an a new <br />det�' ,,ed garage whereby the total square footage would exceed 624 s.f. at approximately 832 <br />SF at 818 Th AVE NW, and <br />,s, the procedural history of the application is as follows: <br />application for a Special Use Permit was received on April 20, 2012. <br />2.' public hearing notice was published in the New Brighton Bulletin on May 2, 2012. <br />3. Public hearing notices were mailed to property owners within 350' of the applicant's <br />pr operty on May 3, 2012. <br />4. Oe Planning Commission, pursuant to published and mailed notices, held a public hearing <br />Oh May 15, 2012 where all interested parties were heard. <br />5. Oe Planning Commission recommended approval on May 15, 2012. <br />6. ' he City Council considered the request on May 22, 2012. <br />(HEAS, the Planning Commission and City Council make the following Findings of Fact with <br />Tesp,ct to the Special Use Permit (SP2012-001): <br />1. e property is zoned R-1, Single Family Residential. <br />2. e property is guided in the Comprehensive Plan for Low Density Residential. <br />3. e property is legally described as follows: <br />Lot 22, Block 2, REDMOND ADDITION, Ramsey County, Minnesota <br />4. Pic applicant has proposed to construct a new detached garage whereby the total square <br />otaee will exceed 624 SF at 832 SF. <br />5. a Planning Commission and City Council considered the proposal in accordance with <br />ming Code Section 4-530 (1) (E) which requires approval of a Special Use Permit for any <br />cessory building in excess of 624 square feet. <br />6. ie Planning Commission and City Council considered the proposed Special Use Permit in <br />cordance with Zoning Code Section 4-530 (1) (K) which requires that the garage meet the <br />llowine conditions: <br />1 Roof and exterior color and material must be consistent and complimentary with the <br />Iprincipal structure. <br />If deemed necessary by the City Council, landscape screening shall be provided to lessen <br />visual impact from adjacent properties. <br />ij <br />No commercial or home occupation activity shall be conducted within the accessory <br />building. <br />7. a Planning Commission and City Council reviewed the proposal in accordance with the <br />llowing Special Use Permit conditions of Zoning Code Section 8-130: <br />Devc1opment\5-22-2012%SP2012-001 (Griffen) - RESOLUTION.doc <br />
