City Manager Lotter reported there was discussion at a previous Council meeting regarding Announcements and urban farming. Staff was directed to gather information on this topic and this would be Updates presented to the Council at the end of July or early August. He mentioned digital packets were still being considered by the City. Gina Bauman Councilmember Bauman noted the next Planning Commission meeting was scheduled for July 17th. She explained she attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at The View. This facility was 31%rented at this time and was pleased with having the building in the community. Mary Burg Councilmember Burg reported the EDC meets next Tuesday, on July 17th from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. She indicated Councilmember Jacobsen would be attending. She noted this Friday, July 13th, the Mounds View Community Theater would begin its summer production of The Pirates of Penzance. She encouraged all to participate in the theater event. Paul Jacobsen Councilmember Jacobsen reported there was no Parks, Recreation&Environmental meeting held in July. The next meeting would be August 1, 2012 at the New Brighton Community Center. He was pleased with the grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony at The View. He thanked staff and the Council for bringing those plans to fruition. He noted he toured the Granite Falls apartments. Mayor Jacobsen Mayor Jacobsen was honored to attend the ribbon cutting at The View. He was pleased with the completion of this project and thanked staff for their hard work. He indicated The View would become an asset to the community.
