The Council has <br />determined that the most feasible option is to keep the existing tower. <br />'One of the conditions of the amendment will include that Clearwire move the existing ball field <br />remove the city light pole, and paint the existing tower. Clearwire will be required to pay <br />the City $30,000 in addition to the costs associated with painting the pole, and a $5,000 <br />landscaping allowance. Additionally the City will have the ability to rent space to other <br />carriers on the tower (co -locators), but will pay Clearwire 30% of net rents from the 1st and <br />2ad tenant, up to $30,000 a piece. This concession will provide a means for <br />Clearwire to be compensated for the up front costs of constructing the co -locatable tower. <br />The City will retain 70% of all rents collected, until Clearwire has recovered $30,000 from <br />each of the first two additional tenants, then 100% of rents from co -locators thereafter. <br />Motion by Councilmember Samuelson, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to authorize the <br />Mayor and City Manager to enter into an amended Tower Lease Agreement with <br />Clearwire concerning the telecommunications tower at Freedom Park, 212114"' ST NW. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />Councilmember Jacobsen asked ifback rent has been paid. It was reported that the New Brighton Community Center will be <br />receiving an award recognizing the cooperative arrangement between the New Brighton <br />Community Center and the Library. The Rotary approved a grant application for $5,000 for <br />childhood literacy fixtures for the Library. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported that the Planning Commission met in May, and that item <br />was approved on tonight's consent agenda. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported that the EDC did not meet in May, and the next meeting is <br />scheduled for June 19th at 7:30 am. <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson reported that the Public Safety Commission will next meet June <br />'25th, the City Engineer will be reviewing traffic related issues. Director Jacobson and Sergeant <br />Moore attended a Ramsey County Law Enforcement Memorial event. The Beyond the Yellow <br />Ribbon Community welcomed Major Timothy Miller home on Saturday May 12th . <br />
