July 10, 2012 Page 5 of 5 <br />Commission Liaison Resorts, Announcements and Updates <br />'Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported there was discussion at a previous Council meeting regarding <br />urban farming. Staff was directed to gather information on this topic and this would be <br />presented to the Council at the end of July or early August. He mentioned digital packets were <br />still being considered by the City. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman noted the next Planning Commission meeting was scheduled for July <br />17th. She explained she attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at The View. This facility was <br />31 % rented at this time and was pleased with having the building in the community. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the EDC meets next Tuesday, on July 17th from 7:30 to 9:00 <br />a.m. She indicated Councilmember Jacobsen would be attending. She noted this Friday, July <br />13`h, the Mounds View Community Theater would begin its summer production of The Pirates <br />of Penzance. She encouraged all to participate in the theater event <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported there was no Parks, Recreation & Environmental meeting <br />held in July. The next meeting would be August 1, 2012 at the New Brighton Community <br />Center. He was pleased with the grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony at The View. He <br />'thanked staff and the Council for bringing those plans to fruition. He noted he toured the <br />Granite Falls apartments. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen was honored to attend the ribbon cutting at The View. He was pleased with <br />the completion of this project and thanked staff for their hard work. He indicated The View <br />would become an asset to the community. <br />Adiournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to adjourn the <br />meeting, <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried, <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:39 pm. <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A.
