August 28, 2012 <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the Annual Meeting with the Army would be held on August 29, <br />2012. Discussion would be held on ground water remediation efforts. He commented <br />MnDOT would be holding an informational meeting on Thursday, September 20th at 10:00 <br />a.m. at the Ramsey County Public Works building. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman noted the Planning Commission met on August 21 St. She indicated <br />the Comprehensive Plan amendments were discussed and recommended for approval. The <br />Commission also discussed Bell Pole in detail regarding dust and odor coming from the site. <br />The site would continue to be watered to reduce dust. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported she attended the EDC meeting last week. She explained Pulte <br />Homes was discussed in addition to the role of the EDC. The next EDC meeting would be <br />held on September 18th at 7:30 a.m. She then thanked Stockyard Days for their $250 donation <br />to the City to assist with police expenses. <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson reported Scott Vaughn has retired from the Fire Department after <br />20 years of service. She thanked him for his dedication to the City. She indicated several <br />members from Public Safety participated in the 7th Annual John Silvera Memorial Run and <br />took home the Public Safety Challenge Trophy. The next Public Safety Commission meeting <br />would be held on September 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Safety building. Allina Medical <br />would be providing an update at that meeting. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported that the Park and Recreation Commission would not meet <br />in September. He noted the Commission was in need of volunteers to serve as commissioners. <br />The Community Center would be closed September 4-7, 2012. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported the Public Safety department was busy this last weekend. He <br />thanked the department for the great work they do for the community. He noted he had a <br />meeting with Meg Robertson of the New Brighton Library regarding the One Book One <br />Community initiative.
