Presentation on <br /> 1. Presentation on 2012 Alternative Urban Areawide Review(AUAR) for NewAlternative <br /> U Urbarban Areawide <br /> Brighton Exchange. Report No. 12-234. Review(AUAR)for <br /> New Brighton <br /> Manager Lotter noted the Council authorized staff to complete an Alternative Urban Areawide Review Exchange.12-234. ReportNo. <br /> City g � <br /> (AUAR)of the New Brighton Exchange. He explained Director of Community Development Fernelius was <br /> present this evening to review the updated report to the Council. <br /> Director of Community Development Femelius discussed the updated AUAR for the New Brighton <br /> Exchange noting the analysis reflects changes that have occurred since the last analysis,which was completed <br /> in 2007. He reviewed these changes in detail noting the closing of the former Miller Dump landfill;in <br /> addition to soil corrections/remediation that took place on the former Midwest Asphalt property and <br /> Northwest Refinery site. He explained the New Brighton Exchange site has seen the construction of APi, <br /> DSI and The View at Long Lake apartments. Each of these new buildings were great additions to the <br /> community. He noted the AUAR document has been digitized since 2007 and was available online on the <br /> City's website. Director of Community Development Fernelius commented the updated AUAR was sent out <br /> for public comments. He discussed the comments received from the MPCA,MnDOT and the Metropolitan <br /> Council in detail. The next steps for the AUAR would be for the Council to discuss the document,provide <br /> staff with feedback. He noted the final document would be adopted on October 23,2012. <br /> Councilmember Bauman questioned if the outside agencies were made aware of each other's comments. <br /> Ken Nimmer explained all comments from outside agencies would be forwarded on to sister agencies along <br /> with the final document. <br /> Councilmember Samuelson asked who would tie the final document together. Mr.Nimmer explained this <br /> high level document would be finalized by the City and made available to all future developers,while also <br /> protecting public health. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen thanked staff for working so diligently on this environmental issue. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen agreed stating this would be a valuable document to have completed and available when <br /> marketing this property in the future. <br />
