AGENDA- <br /> Items under consideration by the City Council are outlined in the formal agenda. Agendas for <br /> City Council meetings are available at the New Brighton City Hall or via the City's webpage at <br /> www.newbrightmunn.gov. <br /> • Consent Agenda-This portion of the council agenda consists of routine items that require <br /> little or no deliberation by the City Council. All consent items are approved by one <br /> motion. Prior to the motion,the Mayor or a member of the Council may request that one <br /> or more items be"pulled"to allow for additional consideration later in the meeting. <br /> • Public Hearing-Hearings are held to provide public input before the City Council votes <br /> on an issue. Public hearings are held on actions such as zoning, development, and <br /> assessments. Public notice is given in the City's official newspaper. <br /> • Council Business-This portion of the council agenda consists of more complex items that <br /> require City Council deliberation and formal action. <br /> • Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements,and Updates-This portion of the council <br /> agenda allows the City Council and the city manager to provide updates to the general <br /> public on upcoming commission meetings and other items that are of interest to the <br /> residents of New Brighton. <br /> MINUTES- <br /> The minutes serve as the official record of the actions taken at Council meetings. The minutes <br /> contain summary of the decisions made by the Council,motions, and vote information. Official <br /> copies are available at the New Brighton City Hall and on the City's webpage at <br /> www.newbrightommn.gov <br /> RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES- <br /> The City Council enacts policies through resolutions and ordinances. <br /> • Resolution-Used for any action of a temporary,routine,or administrative nature. <br /> • Ordinance-Regulates or governs people or property and provides a penalty for violation. <br /> The ordinances for New Brighton are compiled in a Code Book and may be reviewed <br /> during regular business hours or on the City's website. <br /> PUBLIC MEETING CONDUCT- <br /> The City encourages good faith input from its citizen's at all council meetings and desires to <br /> provide an environment based on respect and civility. In order to do so, the City Council of the <br /> City of New Brighton has established the following Standards of Conduct at Public Meetings <br /> based on the norms of acceptable and courteous business behavior. <br /> ]. Members of the audience wishing to address the public body shall first secure the <br /> permission of the mayor. <br /> 2.
