Paetznick, Deputy Director of Public Safety CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: No comments to supplement this report Comments attached Recommendation: Approval of Resolution and Consent Or er Imposing a Civil Penalty of$1,000 for Glory Days Sports Bar and Grill. Legislative History: N/A Financial Impact: Civil penalty of$1,000 will be received within 10 days. Explanation: The City of New Brighton conducts alcohol compliance checks twice per year. The goal of conducting compliance checks is to reduce the availability of alcoholic beverages to those who are under the age of 21. Glory Days Sports Bar and Grill sold alcoholic beverages to a buyer under the age of 21 during police supervised compliance checks on May 21, 2012. The employee who sold during those compliance checks has been convicted of criminal charges for those violations. I have communicated with Ms. Pamela Lynne, owner of Glory Days Sports Bar and Grill. Ms. Lynne has demonstrated remorse for the sale of alcoholic beverages by her staff. Further, Ms. Lynne has retrained her staff and implemented policy for reducing the likelihood of a further violation. Ms. Lynne has signed a Consent Order in which she agrees to pay a civil penalty of $1,000 as required by City Code and agrees to follow through with practices to eliminate sale of alcoholic beverages to those under the age of 21 in her business.
