Special Order of Business Special Order of 1. Swearing on of Police Officer Adam Nelson. Business 1.Swearing in ofPolice Public Safety Director Jacobson introduced the Council to newly hired Police Officer Adam Nelson. Officer AdamNelson Director of Finance Maiers administered the Oath of Office to Officer Nelson.Those present offered a round of applause. 2. Acceptance of the 2012 National Night Out Second Place Award. Report No. 13-027. 2 Acceptance ofthe 2012 National Night Out Second PlacPublic SafetyDirector Jacobson explained the Citywas awarded the Second Place Award for the 2012 13-0 Award Report No. p 13-027. National Night Out. He had a great deal of pride in the City for this accomplishment Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Handorf indicated the City received the Second Place Award from the National Association of Town Watch on behalf of the residents of the City of New Brighton. He noted the City came in first in Minnesota. A plaque was presented to the Mayor and City Council. A round of applause was offered by those present Mayor Jacobsen read a letter in full from Scott Rodamacher,the owner of The Liquor Ban-el. He extended a great deal of thanks to the Police and Fire Department for their actions at a recent event at The Liquor Barrel.
