He noted it was completed
in response to the council's request for long term financial planning. Director Maiers and Wyffels then gave a
overview of the 2013 Utility Rate Study. The PowerPoint presentation focused on the results of the analysis of
the City's water, sewer, stormwater and street light enterprise funds.
Director Maiers and Manager Lotter clarified that the Army fund is separate, and those funds are used
specifically for the remediation of the water supply. Wyffels stated that water revenues have fluctuated over the
years, noting that cash is needed for upcoming utility projects. Councilmember Bauman stated that she feels
this is a smart approach.
The following rates were recommended; water$1.62 per 1000 gallons, sewer$3.62 per 1000 gallons. storm
water$11.79 per quarter and street light$7.40 per quarter.
Manager Lotter suggested the PowerPoint be made available on the City's website, as well as bringing the item
to the next council meeting as a Business Item. The council agreed that would be a good idea.
The work session adjourned at 6:30 pm.
