Department Happenings I upcoming events • The Department had the 8th annual health and fitness expo; over 1,000 in attendance, utilized 15 volunteers • Health Care reimbursement changes. U Care made a change to their benefit. As a result we had 89 people transition out of U Care to Silver Sneakers. We also have 90 new members in Silver Sneakers. This created a lot of paperwork for the month of January. • Our numbers in Silver Sneakers has jumped from 243 to 430. • Pickleball continues to be a success at Highview, 21 adults over 50. At the NBCC on Tues & Thurs from 1-3pm we have about 10 participants. • Working with EAB tree contractors for 2013. This will be available on our website. • Music Together program had 27 preschoolers. • Gymnastics program showed a 33% increase in 2012. Every year there is an Olympic event our gymnastics registration increases. • AARP Driving Classes — 24% increase in 2012. • Facility rentals increased 13% in 2012.
