April 9,2013 Page 8 of 9 <br /> Public Works Director Wyffels discussed the mill and overlay process with the Council in detail. He <br /> commented that the condition of the City's roadways were reviewed by Staff this spring and it was <br /> recommended 23'd Avenue NW,Inca Lane,Sioux Boulevard,Tioga Lane,Canyon Lane, 16th Avenue NW, <br /> Wyndom Circle West,Wyndom Circle East and Wexford Heights Lane all be included in the mill and <br /> overlay project for 2013. This project would be funded from MSA construction/maintenance funds and <br /> Pavement Management Plan Funds. The total project cost at this time was$205,000. Staff explained that <br /> additional work was needed in these neighborhoods. However,there was a funding gap at this time of <br /> approximately$205,000. Staff recommended the Council approve the emergency repair and replacement <br /> plan and authorize Staff to advertise for bids. The Council could also consider additional areas for inclusion in <br /> Project 13-2C. He indicated Staff would advertise both bids and the Council could review the information in <br /> May. <br /> Councilmember Bauman requested the bids be broken down by area,as this would assist the Council in <br /> making a final decision on which areas could be funded. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen and Councilmember Burg supported Staffs recommendation. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen,seconded by Councilmember Burg to approve an emergency <br /> repair and replacement plan and authorize Staff to advertise for segmented bids for the expanded <br /> Public Improvement Project 13-2C,Mill and Overlay. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> Commission Liaison <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Reports, <br /> Announcements and <br /> Updates <br /> Dean Lotter <br /> City Manager Lotter reported Town Hall evaluations have been received and the City received <br /> great scores across the board. He noted the Northwest Youth and Family Services Leadership <br /> Luncheon would be held on May 1st at 11:30 a.m. <br /> Gina Bauman <br /> Councilmember Bauman reported she attended the Cable Commission meeting last Thursday. <br /> Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would be meeting on April 16th. She <br /> welcomed Troy Highland back to the City of New Brighton and thanked him for his service. <br /> Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Samuelson reported she was not able to attend the recent Park and Recreation <br /> meeting due to a Council work session meeting. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC meeting was cancelled this month. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen <br /> Mayor Jacobsen had nothing to report. <br />
