Presentation of <br />Director of Public Safety Jacobson stated it was an honor to came before the Council this evening to present <br />L&z"i'g Awards. Report <br />No. 13 -067. <br />lifesaving awards to members of the New Brighton Public Safety Deperent from the events that took place <br />on February 2, 2013. He invited all Public Safety Personnel in attendance to come forward at this time. He <br />explained the Public Safety Department has had a long history of saving lives in New Brighton due to the <br />great par nershi between the department and Anina Medical. He then discussed the events that took place <br />on February T- in detail and stated the measures taken by the First Responders brought a 20 year old female <br />in New Brighton back to life. <br />Dr. Charlie Lick, All= Medical, commented he was honored to be present at this celebration this everting. <br />He indicated sudden cardiac arrest affected 300,000 each year He explained that Allina. has been an active <br />participant in the Take Heart Initiative, which has encouraged citizens and local business owners to begin <br />CPR and call, 911 in heart related emergencies. He commended the City of New Brighton on becoming the <br />first community in Minnesota to be mined a Heart Safe Community. <br />Director of Public Safety Jacobson recognized Office Kevin Olson, Officer Aaron Slack, Officer Kathy <br />McNeely, Officer/Fire Captain Brad Krebsbach, Fire Captain Jay Frischman, Firefighter/Police Reserve <br />Office Charlie Prasek, PSO/Reserve Officer Derck Livingston, Mounds View Police Officer Darrell Meyer, <br />Allim Pararnedic Steve Plautz, All= Intern Forest Welsch, and family members Tanne Eshenauer, Wally <br />Eshmauer and Pete Eshenaur with a Life Saving Award for their life saving measures taken on February 2, <br />2013.
