Parks Superintendent Wolla commented there were a few problems early <br /> spring with the drain clogging, but it has been cleaned and when it rains <br /> now, it is gone by the next morning. <br /> Vacant: Innsbruck <br /> No report. <br /> Fields: Hidden Oaks <br /> Commissioner Fields commented that there is a hole in one of the soccer <br /> nets. <br /> Frischman: Meadow Wood <br /> Chair Frischman commented that there was an overturned garbage can. <br /> Kunesh-Podein: Silver Oaks <br /> Commissioner Kunesh-Podein stated it is busy with the ball games on the <br /> weekends. When it rains, the aglime from the ballfield runs down the hill <br /> and into the street. The park gets a lot of use. <br /> Vacant: Sunny Square <br /> No report. <br /> Parker: Vermont <br /> No Report. <br /> Vacant: Veterans <br /> No report. <br /> Chair Frischman commented that when the new commissioner comes on <br /> board, we may want to change the parks around with the commissioners. <br /> Parks Superintendent Wolla stated that 2 years ago we put out the new <br /> recycling containers and this year, even though it has not been the best <br /> spring, we had to go from a 4 yard dumpster to a 6 yard to handle all the <br /> recycling items. <br /> D. Department Happenings / upcoming events <br /> Assistant Director Jason West mentioned a few of the Department <br /> Happenings items. <br /> • The NBCC has a summer 90 day fitness pass; $90 for 90 days. It is <br /> great for college students. <br /> • We have 199 participants in our group fitness classes. <br /> • Annual Arbor Day tree planting took place. There were about 28 <br /> students from Bel Air School that came down to help plant 8 trees <br /> at Hansen Park. <br /> • Our new Forestry Technician started several weeks ago. He is U of <br /> M graduate who has been working in Minnetonka. He is very <br /> knowledgeable and good with the residents. It is a 180 day position <br /> from approximately April 15 to Nov. 15. <br /> 5 <br />
