DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Sandy Breuer, ' ector for Parks & Recreation CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: No comments to supplement this report Comments attached Recommendation: Approve the use of temporary signage to promote a new, collaborative program called Movies in the Park developed through the New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department and Ramsey County Parks and Recreation. Legislative History: None Financial Impact: None Explanation: A new collaborative program is being developed between the New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department and Ramsey County Parks and Recreation. The goal is to drive guests to Long Lake Regional Park by inviting them to a family movie in the park event. Families will watch a movie starting at dusk on a 20 foot high screen and have access to food trucks on site for concessions. The event is being held on Tuesday, August 20. Other marketing tactics include news releases, direct mailings, CTV coverage, social media outlets, the city website and city publications, as well as Ramsey County websites and publications. From August 5 —August 21, the temporary signage will be placed along Old Hwy 8 at the Long Lake Regional Park entrance. The sign ordinance in the Zoning Code Policy 9-040, (2)F allows for temporary signs for civic celebrations and events.
