City Attorney LeFevere stated the watershed district would be involved in the development of the TCAAP property,addressing both water runoff and water quality. Public Works Director Wyffels explained the Rice Creek Watershed had all kinds of rules in place to assure that neighboring properties were not adversely impacted by new development. Councilmember Jacobsen questioned if any other cities would be joining in on the Petition. Public Works Director Wyffels commented New Brighton and St.Anthony were most affected by the Rice Creek Watershed District ditches and therefore came together to address these concerns. Motion by Councilmember Bauman,seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to authorize and Commission Liaison approve a Petition to the Rice Creek Watershed District(RCWD)to establish a phased Basic Water Reports, Management Project. He updated the Council on the curbside storm pickup noting 20 truckloads of debris was picked up last week by the Public Works Department. Gina Bauman Councilmember Bauman commented the Public Safety Commission was gearing up for National Night Out, which would be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Collections for the local food shelf were encouraged, in addition to filling a backpack with school supplies. She then reviewed the dos and don'ts of recreational fires in the City of New Brighton. She reported the Cable Commission would hold a special meeting on Thursday night. Paul Jacobsen Councilmember Jacobsen reported that the EDC would not meet in July. He noted Pulte was continuing with their due diligence. He indicated the MPCA responded favorably to the City's report. He commented he tried the City's new Fix 311 app. He then thanked City staff for assisting the residents with storm debris cleanup. Char Samuelson Councilmember Samuelson reported the Parks Committee would meet on July 10th at the New Brighton Community Center and would be discussing parks on the New Brighton Exchange property. Mary Burg Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would not meet in July. Mayor Jacobsen Mayor Jacobsen hoped to see the urban farming task force come together by August. He stated Adjournment Te the Councilmembers would not be acting as a liaison to this group. He noted there was a at 7 meeting adjourned at 7:14 p.m. chicken wing grill off at Adagio's Pizza last weekend. The event was well attended by the community.
