July 9,2013 Page 4 of 5 <br /> as a district wide levy. <br /> Councilmember Bauman commented how the water quality within New Brighton would be affected after the <br /> TCAAP property was fully built out. City Attorney LeFevere stated the watershed district would be involved <br /> in the development of the TCAAP property,addressing both water runoff and water quality. Public Works <br /> Director Wyffels explained the Rice Creek Watershed had all kinds of rules in place to assure that <br /> neighboring properties were not adversely impacted by new development. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen questioned if any other cities would be joining in on the Petition. Public Works <br /> Director Wyffels commented New Brighton and St.Anthony were most affected by the Rice Creek <br /> Watershed District ditches and therefore came together to address these concerns. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Bauman,seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to authorize and Commission Liaison <br /> approve a Petition to the Rice Creek Watershed District(RCWD)to establish a phased Basic Water Reports, <br /> Management Project. Announcements and <br /> Updates <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> Commission Liaison Reports. Announcements and Updates <br /> Dean Lotter <br /> City Manager Lotter reported an updated calendar of meetings was available for the Council to <br /> review on i-Legislate. He updated the Council on the curbside storm pickup noting 20 <br /> truckloads of debris was picked up last week by the Public Works Department. <br /> Gina Bauman <br /> Councilmember Bauman commented the Public Safety Commission was gearing up for <br /> National Night Out, which would be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Collections for the <br /> local food shelf were encouraged, in addition to filling a backpack with school supplies. She <br /> then reviewed the dos and don'ts of recreational fires in the City of New Brighton. She <br /> reported the Cable Commission would hold a special meeting on Thursday night. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen reported that the EDC would not meet in July. He noted Pulte was <br /> continuing with their due diligence. He indicated the MPCA responded favorably to the City's <br /> report. He commented he tried the City's new Fix 311 app. He then thanked City staff for <br /> assisting the residents with storm debris cleanup. <br /> Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Samuelson reported the Parks Committee would meet on July 10th at the New <br /> Brighton Community Center and would be discussing parks on the New Brighton Exchange <br /> property. <br /> Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would not meet in July. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen <br /> Mayor Jacobsen hoped to see the urban farming task force come together by August. He stated Adjournment <br /> Te <br /> the Councilmembers would not be acting as a liaison to this group. He noted there was a at 7 meeting adjourned <br /> at 7:14 p.m. <br /> chicken wing grill off at Adagio's Pizza last weekend.
