The <br /> contractor had to take extra care in the relocation and installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain and <br /> proposed structures or services to cross existing gas, fiber optic, electrical and telephone/cable lines. Staff and the <br /> contractor are in the process of negotiating all change orders as a result of excess utilities. It is anticipated that <br /> future change orders of the same magnitude of this one will be coming for work on Windsor Lane. <br /> This change order also includes the replacement of an existing bituminous trail that was used to access and install <br /> the stormwater pond outlet structure. As part of the trail replacement, the contractor will also install a new storm <br /> sewer catch basin and pipe to collect localized drainage and direct it to the pond. This work was not anticipated at <br /> the time of the bid and would need to be paid for by change order. Please see attached payment breakdown for <br /> details. <br /> Explanation: The project consists of the removal and replacement of the bituminous surfacing, the removal and <br /> replacement of designated sections of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk improvements, storm sewer <br /> improvements, sanitary sewer repairs,and watermain replacement on the following streets: <br /> Windsor Lane - Entire Loop(Silver Lake Road) <br /> Windsor Court - County Road E to Cul-de-sac <br /> Windsor Way - Windsor Court to 20th Ave SW <br /> Costs and Funding: This project will be funded from a combination of City of New Brighton general taxes, <br /> Municipal State Aid funds, special assessments, and utility enterprise funds. The provisions of the contract with <br /> Northwest Asphalt, Inc. stipulate that the City makes a partial payment to the contractor at least once each month <br /> at regular intervals on the basis of the work performed during that preceding month.
