The purpose of this tower is to provide higher pressure for the areas
around Wexford Heights, Seminary Estates, and other nearby streets. This tower was built in 1992.
The High Service Tower repairs included a fair amount of steel work as specified (i.e. seal welding, tank
repairs, additional access hatches, and updated safety ladders). To prevent ice buildup within the storage
reservoir (which can damage the coatings and structural integrity), staff and our consultant,
recommended and included the installation of an internal mixer.
All contract work with Champion Coatings for City Project 12-5, High Service Tower Repair and
Reconditioning has been completed and accepted by both Bolton and Menk and City staff. This
payment includes payment on all contract final quantities associated with the project. It also releases all
payment retainage.
