Public Safety Commission <br /> September 30, 2013 <br /> Attending: Commissioner Allen,Commissioner Donohue, Commissioner Hollimon, <br /> Commissioner Kerns,Commissioner Kocon, Commissioner Kroll, <br /> Commissioner Lamp,Commissioner Schumann, Commissioner Woods, <br /> Deputy Director Paetznick, and Dave Matteson (Allina Health) <br /> Absent: Commissioner Benke,Council Member Bau n <br /> Call to Order/Roll Call <br /> Commissioner Allen called the September meeting to order at 6:36 pm and roll call was taken. <br /> June Meeting Minutes 4 <br /> The June meeting minutes were reviewed. Commissioner Kerns made a motion pprove the <br /> June meeting minutes; Commissioner Kocon seconded. Motion carried. <br /> Public Hearing/Presentation <br /> Allina Health Update—Dave Matteson <br /> Mr. Dave Matteson, Allina Health,presented year-to-da TD) statistics as of 9/24/13 to the <br /> Commission. <br /> • Allina Health has responded to 1,217 calls YTD; 814 Code 3 responses (lights and sirens) <br /> and 403 Code 2 responses (routine). <br /> • Allina Health covers 18 communities in the metro area. New Brighton's calls are 6% of <br /> all calls. <br /> • Average response time for Code 3 ca lls is 5:46. <br /> • When calls are broken down by"Problem Type," "Medical" and"Trauma" are the top <br /> two categories that Allina Health is responding to. <br /> • 84 hours have been added to the schedule starting October 5th; focusing on morning <br /> hours. <br /> • A new lease should be completed any cy for a new Arden Hills base. <br /> • Two new supervisors have been hired. <br /> • Allina Health is getting a new data system called"First Watch." <br /> • "RoadSafety"has been added to the Allina Health rigs; this should result in safer <br /> responses for their ambulances. RoadSafety has just been in test mode but will be rolled <br /> out soon. <br /> Updates <br /> A. Citizen Corps Council <br /> No Report. <br />
